Creating a digital service within the retail industry
As a final project of year 2 at university, we were introduced to retail service design. I chose to work with UNIQLO for my project and created a multi channeled service across in store and app design. The app allowed for two features, one recommendation feature helping to recommend you clothes and materials based on your lifestyle and one feature allowing the user to unlock and pre-buy new collections in store through the app. By entering the store, the user can unlock coming clothes recommended for them.
Looking back, this project has been one of my favorite due to being vey idea and concept driven. Service design lets me as a designer think about the wider picture and about how different functions play into the service or product. Learning about these methods, and this area of design definitely helped develop my skills as a designer but also as a strategist.
