Competition: Live brief of label design
During the summer of 2021 Ravensbourne University in collaboration the famous drink brand Kopparberg offered an exclusive competition with a live brief. The brief was to create a set of three limited edition labels for their most iconic cider bottles: Strawberry & lime, mixed fruits and pear.. The challenge stated that the designs needed to capture the spirit of the brands “Free to be” attitude together with the brands latest campaign “to firsts that last”. Kopparberg emphasised that they valued design close to their Swedish brand roots but also wanted a design that was clearly a “limited edition product” whilst still being identifiable as Kopparberg.
As a young designer and student I enjoyed this project greatly. During the process of the project I was able to develop my illustrative abilities as well as my conceptual thinking. Even though I never won the competition, the take aways for me as a designer were massive which I still see as a big win. I challenged my graphical abilities by working with geometric shapes to create my illustrations and found it to be a very fun exercise even though it was rather far from my usual areas of work.
